We have been open and operating under a different name ‘Doghouse Bakewell’ for 4 years.
Due to the success of Doghouse, I made the decision to expand and have relocated down the road to North Church Street in Bakewell.

Sophie
Owner & Director
I’m Sophie the owner and Director at Cambridge House Dog grooming salons and Academy.
I have been grooming since 2012 and training groomers since 2015. I always wanted to work with animals, initially my main interest was horses. I studied HND Equine sports Coaching followed by a BSc in Equine and human Sports Performance, followed by NVQ Level 3 in Horse care and Management and an A1 Assessors award. I then progressed further into PGDip Animal Physiotherapy.
Through Physio, I became more involved and interested in Canine Anatomy and Physiology, and decided to get my first KC registered dog, a Chinese crested that I wanted to learn to show.
I started grooming for other people as an interest, and did a short grooming course in Warwickshire.

Hi I’m Amy, I am Grooming Operations Manager and Trainer at Cambridge House Dog Grooming Salon in Bakewell.
I have a Golden Retriever called Henry and a Black Labrador called Cody.
I started grooming in 2019 after completing my level 3 Diploma at Four Paws Groom School. My interest in dog grooming began when we got our family dog Henry, whose love of muddy puddles requires regular bathing and grooming! I found a position working at a grooming salon in Manchester where I was able to build on my skills before moving to Doghouse in 2021.
I completed my Level 3 Award in Education and Training in 2025 and I look forward to passing on my knowledge and helping others reach their goals as dog groomers!

I truly love what I do & having two dogs myself, I understand the importance of treating every dog with patience, care, and kindness.

As we are getting busier we have made the decision we can no longer accept dogs with behavioural issues.
We can still accommodate our regular ‘Spicy dogs’, but please note the price will reflect this.
Those that require 2 groomers will be charged for 2 appointment slots going forward.
